Referral and funding options
Ways to access therapy at Wisemind & Body
You can attend as a private client, or you may be able to access sessions through a referral. The right option depends on your circumstances. If you are unsure, contact us and we can help confirm the appropriate appointment type.
Medicare Mental Health Care Plan
If your GP provides a Mental Health Care Plan, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates for psychology sessions.
GP referral requiredPrivate Clients
You can book privately without a referral. This may suit clients who prefer not to use Medicare or who do not have a current plan.
No referral neededEating Disorder Plans
Some clients may be eligible for psychology sessions under an Eating Disorder Management Plan from their GP.
GP referral requiredWorkCover Queensland
We provide psychological treatment for approved WorkCover Queensland claims where psychology has been accepted.

We aim to make the booking process clear, so you know what to expect before attending your first appointment.
Private Psychology Clinic
Wisemind & Body is a private psychology clinic. We do not currently offer bulk billing, but our fees are set below current national suggested fee schedules where possible.
Medicare Rebates
If you are using a Mental Health Care Plan, we require a copy of your GP referral before we can process Medicare rebates.

Reports, letters, forms, and other written documents are not included in the standard consultation fee and may attract an additional fee.
Medico-Legal Reports
We do not provide medico-legal court reports. Where appropriate, brief treatment summary letters may be available.
What to expect
Starting therapy can feel like a big step
It is normal to feel unsure about booking your first appointment. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting. The first sessions are about understanding what is happening, what you need, and how therapy may be able to help.
